Short: WebAnimDesignv0.93 on PersonalPaint7.+
Uploader: paabo@bancom.net
Author: A. Paabo
Type: biz/cloanto
Replaces: biz/cloanto/pprx_WAD.lha
Version: 0.93
PROGRAMS USING THE FILES
- Personal Paint from version 7.+
MAIN APPLICATION
- Using Personal Paint 7.+ in conjunction with PPaint's SaveAnimGIf.pprx
INSTALLATION
- Copy 'WebAnimDesigner.pprx' to PPaint:Rexx
- Copy 'WADTransitionMaker.pprx' to PPaint:Rexx
(Both scripts relate to one another and should be in the same directory)
DESCRIPTION
- I have expanded this archive to include a second script, so that now there
are two closely related scripts (the WADTransitionMaker animbrushes are
viewed on WebAnimDesigner, for example). The basic concept is that via
hte rexx button in the PPaint toolbox, the user can select between the
scripts, in which case information is passed from one to another via the
arexx clipboard.
- These programs are started with veresion 0.90 (ie not quite 1.0 yet).
To allow for further experimentation and fixes. WADTransitionMaker is at
0.90 and WebAnimDesigner is now at 0.93. Many changes relate to the way
it looks and acts. Whether texts are written understandably. Further
improvements may involve accomodating other languages than English.
- What is it? WebANimDesigner is the core program. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A
A SAVER FOR AMIGA ANIMBRUSHES. BUT RATHER IT IS A TOOL FOR DESIGNING WEB
ANIMS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT LOOK LIKE THE SOURCE ANIMS DEPENDING ON WHAT
SETTINGS ARE CHOSEN. It is a tool for exploiting the additional options
available, to achieve the smallest web animation file for the largest
animation effects. For example, WADTransitionMaker creates small
confetti-like pieces of pictures, which in regular Amiga anim form looks
like a flurry of small rectangles. But in the animated gif format where
the previous tiny frames are not disposed of (but remain on screen), all
that dancing confetti actually builds up into an image. Because all the
frames are tiny, the entire anim, which may consist of hundreds of frames
is not much larger than the same anim without the transition effect.
In WebAnimDesigner your animbrush is made
into an anim centered on a web-page sized page, and at any time you can
create a simulation of an animated gif made from that anim on the second
environment. This program can hand the anim over to a slightly
modified Cloanto's saveanimgif.pprx script as an annotated animbrush. The
actual animated gif creating program is separate and is the property of
Cloanto, and is provided here only for convenience. (I could have left it
separate, and this program could have called it via ADDRESS COMMAND Rx;
however I decided I'd modify it slightly and tag it to the end of this
script, for even greater convenience)
-WADTransitionMaker allows you to take a number of images and create
transitions from one to the next based on the buildup of rectangles whose
size and positions you choose yourself. The resulting Amiga anim, as mentioned
above is that of dancing rectangles, but when saved to run in a no-dispose
fashion, the transition is achieved with very little increasee in filesize.
-To view the result, you can hit the Rexx button and run it in WebAnimDesigner
immediately, or save it to animbrush, or save it to animated gif via Cloanto's
SaveAnimGif.pprx script. WADTransitionMaker, thus is designed to create an
unusual Amiga anim that needs to be viewed in a special way.
-In future other animbrush creation scripts will also be tied in to
WebAnimDesigner as the core program.
-I actually practive web page design, and so development of such scripts is
dictated by what ideas I develop that are useful.
USAGE:
Create a rough animbrush to start, OR if you start with WADTransitionMAker
create a transition animbrush, and then enter WebANimDesigner.pprx via
the Arexx button. This will Open New Project, which sets up an anim made
from this initial animbrush (or any animbrush needing editing fro web use)
on the center of the page, surrounded by the animbrush's transparent
color. If the anim was created by WADTransitionMaker, there is no need
to create an animbrush first, because the anim is exactly positioned.
(The coordinates, etc. are shared via the clipboard) and I've designed it
so that WebAnimDesigner does not ask for a new animbrush when you have
just exited WADTransitionMaker.

Like these experimental scripts
the website is experimental too. These designs are not made for any other
purpose than to share scripts that I'm developing for myself. WADtransitionMAker
for example allows the AMiga user to create wonderful transition effects
within minutes, while web designers on the PC are still trying to figure out
how to even begin creating an animation! To create a slidehow of photos
here's all you do. Create a number of small Jpeg pictures, and then load
them one by one into Personal Paint anim frames, setting colors at 32.
Pick up the anim of pictures as an animbrush, and then enter WADTransitionMAker.
Within five minutes you have an animated gif slideshow complete with transitions.
That blow away the PC-based web designers.
